Our temporary nest of birds
This project aims to explore the female narrative of Panjabi wedding folk songs across both sides of Panjab in India, Pakistan and the diaspora with a focus on Birmingham and the Black Country over the past years.
Research will be through oral history, wedding archives from photographs and items. Throughout the project there will also be creative writing workshops held with women of all ages, to explore and write responses to the folk songs along with a separate Gidha workshop.
Please see the flyer below for workshop dates.
These workshops are being supported by Creative Multilingualism's Slanguages project, Birmingham City University, Creative Black Country and Open Access Seed award.
