Slanguages exhibition

Visit our Slanguages exhibition at Birmingham City University until 21 Dec to explore the different way artists use languages in their work.

Slanguages is exploring the creative way artists take inspiration from and use different languages. The exhibition is co-curated by Professor Rajinder Dudrah from Birmingham City University who is leading research on Languages in the Creative Economy Strand in collaboration with Punch Records. It features the work, archives and ephemera from four Birmingham-based artists who use different languages in their work: RTKAL, Lekan Babalola, Tanny Tizzle, and Rinkoo Barpaga. The exhibition ranges across the genres of rap, grime and spoken word, West African jazz and funk, visual arts, and urban sign languages.

Everyone welcome - no booking required.
