The Ayapaneco language is at risk of extinction because the last two speakers of the language refuse to talk to each other

Known as ‘Nuumte Oote’ (True Voice) to speakers of the language, the centuries-old language of Ayapaneco is one of 68 indigenous languages in Mexico, several of which are in danger of dying out despite attempts to save them from extinction.
